People & Culture Coordinator

Who we are

Tahua Group Limited’s vision is to create a great Kiwi business, home to well-loved brands in retail and hospitality. Inspired by a shared passion for serving our communities, we combine the unique strengths of our brands with the support of our central Tahua community — including Finance, Payroll, Information Services, Property, Strategy, Project Management and People & Culture.

Each business celebrates its own identity, but we are all connected by our values of better, manaakitanga, and whanaungatanga.

Why you’ll love this role

If you’re looking to kick-start your HR career, this is the place to do it. Just ask our current P&C Coordinator, who’s moving into her next role with us - this will be a brilliant launchpad.

You’ll be right at the heart of our People Partnering team, supporting our retail and hospitality brands with work that’s varied, fast-paced and genuinely people-focused. You’ll be the friendly go-to for coordination and admin that keeps everything running smoothly.  Even better, you’ll help shape the employee experience by streamlining processes, improving workflows, and spotting opportunities to make life easier for leaders and teams. If you love organising, problem-solving, and making things better, you’ll thrive here.

What you’ll deliver

  • Friendly, first-line HR support and strong relationships across the business.
  • Drafting and processing employment agreement changes (your attention to detail will shine here).
  • Simplifying and improving people processes — including automation where it makes life easier.
  • Key HR administration: e-files, contracts, parental leave, benefits, service certificates.
  • Support for onboarding/offboarding and coordination of recognition programmes.
  • Accurate reports and data insights to support managers.
  • Monitoring team inboxes, escalating queries, and contributing to improvement projects.

 What you’ll bring

  • Experience in coordination or process-focused roles (HR exposure is a bonus).
  • Sharp attention to detail and confidence with both data and written communication.
  • A warm, down-to-earth style — you bring good vibes, energy and ideas.
  • A strong drive to get things done and keep things moving.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Great organisation and planning skills.
  • Strong communication, EQ, and self-awareness.
  • Tech confidence — HR/database systems and Microsoft Office don’t scare you.
  • A love of problem-solving and finding better ways to work.

 What we offer

  • Stunning offices with a sea view, and our own Starbucks café on site.
  • Free car parking.
  • The Tahua Family Card with discounts across Burger King, Starbucks, Popeyes, Hannahs, Number One Shoes, Torpedo7, The Outlet and Resonate Health.
  • A genuinely supportive, fun team where your work makes a real difference.
  • A 1-year fixed-term role with heaps of learning and development opportunities.
