Store Manager - Starbucks Midland Park
Great coffee. Genuine hospitality. People-led performance.
A great Starbucks store starts with a great team — and a great leader.
As a Starbucks Store Manager, you'll lead and develop your people to create premium experiences customers choose to return for. That means pride in our coffee and craft, genuine hospitality and connection, high standards, consistent execution — and the courage to keep raising the bar.
We're looking for leaders who love hospitality, get genuine satisfaction from seeing people grow and understand that strong results are achieved through how well you lead your people.
Lead the whole business
Being a Store Manager at Starbucks means taking ownership of the whole business — your people, your customers, your operation and your results.
We want to develop well-rounded leaders who can bring together four areas:
PEOPLE, CUSTOMER, OPERATIONS, FINANCIALS
Lead your people
Coach, develop and inspire a high-performing team where people feel they
belong. Set clear expectations, recognise great performance, build future
leaders and have the courage to address what isn't working.
Champion the customer
Create genuine hospitality, connection and moments of joy that make customers
feel welcome. Build a team customers can trust to deliver a consistently great
experience — every visit, every day.
Own your operation
Bring pride and craft to the details that matter. Set high standards across
coffee and beverage quality, service, cleanliness, food safety and store
execution — and make sure they're delivered consistently.
Drive your business
Take ownership of results. Know what drives your store's performance and
understand the story behind the numbers. Use sales, transactions, labour,
inventory and costs to identify opportunities, make better decisions and turn
insight into action through your team.
Because great people experiences, great customer experiences and great business performance belong together.
We give you time to lead
We expect a lot from our Store Managers, so we deliberately create time to help you succeed.
Our Store Managers work Tuesday to Saturday, with Tuesday dedicated to planning and leadership — giving you time away from the day-to-day rhythm of the floor to understand your business, develop your people and prepare yourself and your team for the week ahead.
It's part of how we help you grow across People, Customer, Operations and Financials — not simply as a great operator, but as a well-rounded business leader.
What you'll bring
We're interested in how you lead, not just where you've worked.
You'll ideally bring:
- Proven leadership experience in hospitality, retail or another customer-led environment
- A genuine passion for hospitality, service and exceptional customer experiences
- A love of coaching, developing and seeing people succeed
- High standards and pride in getting the details right
- Commercial confidence and curiosity about what drives business performance
- The courage to make decisions, set expectations and have the conversations that matter
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for results
- A desire to keep learning, developing and challenging yourself
- A passion for coffee and craft — or real curiosity to build one
Previous coffee experience is a bonus, but you don't need to know everything on day one. We'll build your coffee knowledge and craft. We're looking for the leadership, hospitality mindset and desire to learn.
Why Starbucks?
Learning and development aren't just part of your first few weeks — they're part of how we grow great leaders.
You'll benefit from:
- Ongoing leadership development, coaching and Starbucks training
- Coffee and craft learning that builds your knowledge and confidence
- Opportunities to develop future leaders while continuing to grow yourself
- Career development within Starbucks and across our wider Tahua Group
- Benefits and discounts across Tahua brands
- A culture built around Craft, Courage, Results, Belonging and Joy
Starbucks New Zealand is proudly owned and operated by Tahua Group.
Lead a great team. Create premium experiences. Build a business you're proud of.
